PATIENT REGISTRATION AND INVENTORY TRACKING SYSTEM FOR DENTAL AND ORTHODONTIC CLINIC

Abstract

The Dental and Orthodontic Clinic of Dr. Sriyani Basnayake is one of the pioneer dental clinic in private dental clinic sector. Dr. Basnayake is well recognized in the industry as a specialist in orthodontics. At present, patient registration and managing stocks have been done manually. Since the popularity of the dental clinic is increased during past years, maintaining manual registry, scheduling patient s appointments and managing stocks become difficult tasks to perform. Therefore by being implementing this project, it will helps to improve and maintain the standards, efficiency and effectiveness of the dental clinic. The entire system divided into five main systems, namely Registration (Staff /Patient/ /Vendor/Items), Treatment Plan, Billing and Managing Appointments (Dental Braces/Overnight Treatments), Inventory Tracking and Generating Reports for the Management. This system will completely replace both registration book and stock book while ensuring quality, faster and easier service to the client and her customers. System will be developed using three-tier layered architecture. Object oriented techniques also will be used to draw use-case diagrams. Microsoft Office Visio 2003 will be used as the modeling software in the analyzing and designing stages of the project. Visual Studio Professional Edition 2008 is used to implement the system in C#.NET language with the help of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express 2008 in the Windows base environment. This report is a detail documentation of the work carried out during the implementation of the proposed system. Each chapter will cover the specific work area commencing from a brief introduction and terminating with a critical appraisal of the work performed.
