INVENTORY CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SOBAMITH SALES (PVT) LTD

Abstract

SOBAMITH SALES (pvt) Ltd is a company formed by farmers themselves, which provides direct market opportunities for farmers. Inventory control system was developed for SOBAMITH Sales (pvt) Ltd in order to overcome the difficulties in their manual recording system. The client is functioning as an intermediary, which brings the farmer and the buyer together in order to provide opportunities for the farmers to sell their products for a fair price. (The buyers are companies involved in marketing and exporting organic products and they usually request large quantities). So it is crucial for SOBAMITH to transform in to a proper inventory control system to handle increasing demands for organic products in an effective and efficient manner. Since the client is currently using a manual data recording system, maintaining and retrieving the data back is truly tiring and a very much time consuming and a cumbersome process. To cope up with the increasing demand and supply accordingly, the existing manual recording system is not at all sufficient and it is crucial for SOBAMITH to change to a software solution. The proposed system is capable of addressing the limitations and failures of the current manual system, such as data maintenance, lack of proper track records, tough data retrieving activities, data duplication, data intertwine and inability to generate customize reports. Also it is able to record data in an orderly manner. The system is developed using Netbeans6.9.1and is structured according to MVC architecture. For the system analysis and design unified modelling language is used and MYSQL 4.1 is used as the back end for the system. OOP and design patterns are used to enhance the maintainability and Jasper reporting library is used for report generation
