Abstract: The use of Information Technology has become essential in the current world of business in order to uplift daily business procedures. Dinumin Home Care (Pvt) Ltd is a group of companies who has the potential to grow, despite the fact that lack in information and technology has blocked its way in achieving optimal levels in performance. The company purchases raw material where they process them to generate quality home care products. Since its start in 2004, stock of raw material and finished goods have been managed using a manual inventory management system which has major drawbacks such as data redundancy and time wastage. The company also manages sales representatives which speaks out? the levels of backward and forward integration. Due to the above advances and to gain sustainable competitive advantage in the long run, the company has decided to develop a new system which would cater all needs of the organization. The developments process has been carried out using the object oriented concept. An efficient analysis has been carried out to confirm the requirements and the scope of the system. The scope has been further verified and separated into modules by creating several design diagrams which facilitated the identification of the logical structure of the system. The implementation environment has been identified after a firm study of the systems architecture and the cost benefits of the technologies identified. The system has been developed using web based open source technologies such as PHP and JavaScript to optimize the functionalities of the system. System evaluation process has been carried out right through the project to confirm and validate that the user requirements have been fulfilled. Further, necessary testing procedures have been carried out both in the developer and client environments to reduce anomalies of the system as well as to gather user feedbacks. The system has been completed effectively and has been deployed in the client environment with appropriate user documentation and training mechanism. The dissertation attempt to present an overview of the work carried out throughout the project and to confirm the successful completion of the inventory management and sales performance monitoring system.
