Title: eCare - Online Channeling and Transaction Management System for Kandy Channeled Consultation Center

Abstract: Kandy Channeled Consultation Center is one of the main health service providers in Kandy. Moreover, patients could get variety of services through Channeled Consultation Center. Currently they use their standard alone system which is limited to handle their payments. Fully computerized system with online channeling is not currently implemented for the company and all inquiry handlings are done manually. So, consummation of time is one of the major problems of their current system. eChanneling and automation of management activities using information technology are now becoming more popular among the people and more private sector companies are applying this technology. By implementing Online Channeling and Transaction Management System (eCare system) they hope to enhance their services as well as increase company revenues. System was developed for the whole process of channeling and the managing procedures of the company. eCare system helps to avoid long waiting queues created by manual appointment booking as well as improve transaction management activities. Using the eCare system customers can save their time by booking an online appointment at home or office. Also workers of the company don t need to waste their time and materials as system reduces the load of paper work. System facilitates to manage doctors, payments, doctor schedules and helps to provide health knowledge freely to the people. Methodology used for the development of the proposed system was Rational Unified Process Model and it s closely related with Object Oriented Designing and could work with UML. Client - Server architecture was proposed as architecture of the system. PHP was the main programming language, MYSQL was the database and Apache was the database server. Dreamweaver was used to develop the system and Microsoft Visio was used in drawing UMLs. Development of eCare system will increase revenues of the company as well as it will improve quality of the services given by the company by automating the operations of the Kandy Channeled Consultation Center.
