NOVA Inventory Management Systems

Abstract

This dissertation describes development and implementation of a complete business solution, titled NOVA Inventory Management System (NIMS) . This has been developed for NOVA computers. NOVA is one of best New and Refurbished IT equipment. Currently the company has a manual Inventory Control Management System (ICMS) which takes a lot of time for generating reports, which leads to delay in supplying on time information backlogs, customer complaints, ultimately decrease in productivity. Due to these reason, management of this organization decided to automate and improve the process with a computerized system. The business processes of our client are similar or common to other trading companies. Basic functions are purchasing, selling, maintaining stock and generating reports. All the other activities may include one of these three areas. With a manual system it is difficult to tackle these things. So the scope of this project is to overcome the drawbacks occurs when client operates on manual system. And the responsibility was to concern these kinds of facts and to develop a proper system that will overcome these problems and accelerate the business outcomes of the client. The proposed system has been designed as a web based system with three tired architecture. Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005, Rational Rose are the technologies being used in the system. And also the system is designed and developed with best practices in the provision of software development. The goal set forth on the project has been achieved and would be obvious for a reader of this material as it explains the bit and pieces of all the aspects of the system and how it was implemented.
