SRI LANKAN STOCK IMAGE HUB (IHLK) FOR HEGODA SCHOOL OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Abstract

Hegoda School of Photography (HSOP) is a reputed photography school which has produced many professional photographers to Sri Lankan photography industry. There are quite a lot of amateur photographers who has got talent and good image collections. HSOP needed a solution to sell these photographs online and to enable them to create profiles. They would earn their reputation in order to enhance their career through administrator comments, feedback from users and to interact with customers and other photographers. The term Stock photography is used to describe the supply of photographs licensed for specific use. The images could be used to fulfill the needs of creative assignments instead of hiring a photographer. The collection of photographs of HSOP students could be used as Stock photographs. The highlighted features of the stock image website includes, handling comments, ratings and giving an affordable solution for uploading and storing high resolution photographs. Administration of the system would have the privileges to view and download reports, review/manage users and images, and manage the content of the website. The system is ameliorated using apache web server as the server environment, PHP as the development language and My SQL as the database management system to provide a low cost efficient solution for the client. Object oriented techniques in PHP were used enhance the performance and security of the system. By using smooth simple user interfaces and functionalities in order to use the system efficiently and giving an economical solution for HSOP, the photographers can think in a new dimension and reach the world through this system.
