MIS & On-line Reservation and Order Placement Management System for Queen's Cafe Restaurant and Pool Lounge

Abstract

Queen s cafe restaurant and Pool lounge has 02 branches in Colombo 03 and Mount Lavinia. At present, Queen s Café management system is fully manual process and therefore it was decided to automate current manual function to on-line management system. This system will enable the customer to make online reservations to the Queen s cafe restaurant, pool/snooker tables and online payment. After the completion of the requirement gathering, we had decided to develop a Web site which will enable customer interaction in order to view details on Queen s cafe and its services and also an Administration web portal for the Cafe s internal staff/Administrator. Tracking orders, Pool/Snooker table reservations, Online Food Order and online payments are some of the functions in this particular Management Information System. Added to that there are a wide variety reports that aid the users and Administration staff. However since at the initial stages the requirements were not very clear, RAD with Prototyping methodology used to develop the System. This Online Management System was developed using Visual Studio 2008 implemented the system in ASP.NET with C# language with the help of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in the Windows environment. This combination ensures a high portability to the system developed. This developed system is thoroughly tested to guarantee a validated system. Queen s café on-line management system is successfully implemented within the given time frame. All the modules were tested according to a well developed test plan and the feedback of the Top level management after the implementation of the System is very much favourable.
