dc.description.abstractThe Fleet Management System for DA Software Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd was intended to provide to management of a fleet to manage its resources effectively and increase the efficiency of the fleet, which the current manual systems lacks, by using world-wide information system. Being a web based solution, considering the need for accessing the system from anywhere in the world by the authorized users, with the intention of saving time in their busy lives. The software is design and developed considering functionalities of DA software Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. The system is able to handle the fleet details, operating lease, repairs and stock details. The tedious process of handling information of vehicle fleet and manage stock details, are the main drawbacks of the current manual system. The system provides a capable approach to manage fleet efficiency and maintain stock properly. System will have the proper user management module and transaction logging system to record every major transaction. These facilities overcome the human resource utilization, unauthorized access to the system and misuse of stocks. The stock item is reached to the Re-Order Level (ROL) and then system will be sending a mail or an SMS alert to the mobile phone of the company inventory officer. The feature of sending an SMS comes under research area of the project. Present trends in the software industry with Object-Oriented methodologies have been incorporated to develop the current system. PrimeFaces, Spring and Hibernate frameworks were used to develop the system, which are supported by java. Those frameworks were used to implement the multi-tier architecture and for the Presentation, Business and Data access layers respectively. This document primarily illustrates the importance of the developed system, concerning the background information, processes involved with each phase of the Rational Unified Process, problems occurred throughout the project, and the solutions that have been provided to improve the efficiency of the fleet.en_US
