Light Weighted Real Time Cloth Simulation on 3D Web

Title: Light Weighted Real Time Cloth Simulation on 3D Web
Authors: Rajanayake, R.M.I.C.B.
Abstract: Physically based Cloth simulation is an interesting topic in the Computer graphics field and it is growing rapidly among the Computer graphics community. Because of the computational cost of the simulating algorithms it’s too hard to develop light weighted, low computational cost system for real time cloth simulation for large time stamp.
Also the web is the future of the Computer Science and people can’t think of computer science without web (WWW). Everything in the industry as well as research were converted to be visible through the web since it would be spread among many interested parties without making huge efforts in distributing. For example, online gaming, Online Shopping, online Virtual fashion shows and many more web-based concepts are fast growing these days. Therefore, it’s a must to develop products accessible through web in order to cater for large numbers of customers. Also 3D web is the next generation of the web. Network delay is not a problem with modern technologies and the computational cost is the main issue in the 3D web.
In this research based project, we will simulates the cloth behavior is depend simulated on physical base model in the 3DWeb context.

Framework For Legacy Application Modernization

Title: Framework For Legacy Application Modernization
Authors: Dissanayake, D.I.
Abstract: In the modern business world there is a huge increase of problems and difficulties that users face due to existing aging applications. This is caused by many reasons like high cost of legacy system maintenance, demand for higher performance, discontinuation of support for previous technologies, difficulty of finding skills in older technologies, new requirements, lack of competitive advantage etc. With the growth of this problem it came to known as the Legacy Crisis in industry.

So, it was identified that the only solution left for this is the Application Modernization and many parties have come up with different solutions. Though they solved the problem up to some extent it introduced some other issues like these solutions are specific to one or two technologies, very high in cost, effort and time consuming, less flexibility etc. Taking this situation into consideration, this project “Framework for Legacy Application Modernization” is proposed and done with the intention of introducing a standard and generalized framework for application modernization, which can be used as the underlying foundation for any kind of application modernization project. Further, this project includes a prototype implementation of a symbolic Project Tracking System to resemble how project tracking should be done in such modernization projects.

An Advanced Open Source Online Management Information System for 3Saccessory

Title: An Advanced Open Source Online Management Information System for 3Saccessory
Authors: Herath, H.M.D.S.
Abstract: The Internet is the one of sophisticated technologies and a fashion that has made differences in
the world during the last few years. In today's scenario, the Internet is not restricted a particular
sector but has become an essential part of our day-to-day activities. Therefore people in
worldwide can access to the Internet from anywhere and anytime. They no longer want to restrict
to traditional methods for doing their business. To make this possible, developers are developing
online web-based application for various purposes.
The proposed project was a complete online web-based Management Information System for
3Saccessory Company. It mainly consists of three web applications for
• Performing day-to-day business more efficient and effective way.
• Administrating and monitoring the activities for security, accuracy and speedup decision
making purposes. Even Admin persons are located outside of the company promises.
• An online system for interact with customers to support their business activities.
In additional to developing web applications, it was considered to introduce open source culture
to 3Saccessory Company. The intention was focused on the open source technologies, because of
low or non-existent licensing cost, flexibility, and reliability and security reasons.
• Introducing a customized Linux distribution for 3Saccessory purposes
The implementation of the online web-based system was purely on open source environment. It
is hosting on web server that run on Linux operating system with relevant open source packages.
Finally, the proposed online web-based system improves the quality of the work in 3Saccessory
and lead efficiently with increased profits of the company.

Students Internship Management System

Title: Students Internship Management System
Authors: Pushpakumara, H.M.C.
Abstract: This dissertation is based on individual project of the Master of Computer Science program, University of Colombo School of Computing. Target of this project is implementing a web based students internship management system to automate selection, manage the process and monitor its various activities.
The developed system is based on the internship program of the final year students of Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Ruhuna. As the initial stage, existing manual systems and related research projects were analyzed and then the new system was designed.
This project work presents an information system with best management practices eliminating problems of current manual and automated systems focusing on identified problems. As main contribution of this project the proposed system has been developed by implementing a strong algorithm for optimal allocation of students for internship placements. Further, the system provides automated environment to manage the essential components of the internship program such as web portal, mechanism for strong communication, activity management, well developed student assessment and evaluation.
