Title: SMS Gateway System & smart phone Application for sampath Bank
Authors: Vithanage, M.J.
Abstract: Sampath bank is one of the best banks in Sri Lanka. The bank handles a large number of customers with a big branch network. At present Sampath Bank consists of 209 braches all over the country. It also has 264 Automated Teller Machines (ATM). The vision of the bank is to become the growing force in Sri Lankan financial services. To reach that target Sampath Bank use different types of unique strategies. These unique strategies attract more and more new customers to the bank. It also helps to serve the best service to the customers. Before Sampath Bank was established, the banking sector in Sri Lanka was not a very much attractive service provider to the customers. Those days it took three days to clear a cheque which was deposited from Colombo. If it was an outstation cheque it took one week to complete the process. Customers had to wait in long queues with tokens in their hands. Some used to come with their lunch packets to the bank because they never knew that how long it will take for them to complete their work. All these things changed quickly with the introduction of Sampath Bank. That was because Sampath Bank use the latest information technology based products. These IT products help the customers to complete their work in few minutes. Soon after this revolution by the bank other banks also had to adjust them self to an IT culture. To attract more and more customers and to pass messages to them the bank still uses some traditional methods, such as banners, posters, cutouts etc……..My main aim by this project is to provide a customer satisfied IT base product for the marketing section. SMS gateway system is the proposed system. By this product customers will able to send a message to the bank whenever they need. Soon after they send the message the system will auto generate a message. Then according to the message it will send back the reply message. Here the customers or the non customers will able to get relevant information at anytime from anywhere. The next aim is to build a smart phone application. It is navigation system so that the user will able to see where he is and will able to check the distance to the point where he has to get down. Both the systems will include in a web interface which also includes some more information about the banks IT products.

Title: e - Person web information system
Authors: Rathnayaka, R.M.J.
Abstract: The modern development of the world has made the man very industrious making him utilize every second in his life to engage in daily routine of work.
As a result of that people do not have time to manage and maintain their personal documents and data. The e- Person web information system is developed as a solution for the problem created by the time factor.
From this dissertation author hopes to present the e- Person web information system, the problems and short comings that can arise from it and also suitable problem solving methods to face them. The e – Person system is mainly designed to manage personal information and documents by providing highly secured functionalities.
As personal documents and data vary from person to person they are strictly confidential to each other in their lives. The e – Person system caters to the necessity of such secured personal document management system to preserve the privacy of personal information.
Since most of the people are fed up with managing their personal documents completely by manual processes this will be a good solution for them to arrange their life in more systematic manner.
The system allows users to upload and manage their electronic versions of the paper documents with other Meta data information and let them available to access it any time at anywhere. In addition to that the system provides the document collaboration feature to share the valuable information among external parties with more security features.
The J2EE technology was used to develop all the modules of the system by combining spring and struts framework. In addition to that the JSP was used to design interfaces and Oracle database was used as the backend database in the system.
To evaluate the system a questionnaire was given to selected group of users to measure the performance, usability, security and user friendliness of the developed system. The user feedbacks were analyzed and presented the results of evaluation in graphical representation at the closure of this dissertation.
