Title: SCORM Compliant Interactive E - Learning Content for "Data Structures and Algorithms"
Authors: Jayawardanda, W.S.
Abstract: SCORM Compliant Interactive E Learning
Contents for “Data Structures and Algorithms -11”

Online e-learning applications have proven to increase both effectiveness and efficiency of training methodologies. Up-front investment is required to develop and convert training materials for technology-based online presentation. These investment costs may be reduced by an estimated 50-80 percent through use of e-learning module that are:

•	Durable – do not require modification as versions of system software change.
•	Interoperable – operate across a wide variety of hardware, operating systems, and web browsers.
•	Accessible – can be indexed and found as needed.
•	Reusable – can be modified and used by many different development tools.

The project is to implement an SCORM (Shareable Courseware Object Reference Model) Compliant interactive E-learning module specially catering for “Algorithms Part of Data structures and Algorithms” course base on the BIT (Bachelor of Information Technology) module IT 2202. This dissertation covers only Algorithms part of the syllabus hence named Data structures and Algorithms part 11.
An Open source learning Management System (LMS) Moodle is used to host the e- learning module. Each lesson is very user friendly and is consisted with sound and animations. Every lesson can be easily manageable, because they are created using the Instructional design methodology. End of the each lesson there is a quiz to evaluate the students.

Title: E - Learning module for Fundamentals of Software Engineering (Based on BIT module IT2402)
Authors: Uruthiran, P.
Abstract: Web-based learning and teaching is a rapidly growing area in education. Traditional forms of distance education are being transformed as the Internet becomes the new medium for communication. Web-based course delivery can offer a vibrant learning environment created through different teaching strategies, activities, and technologies. This paper briefly outlines some of the literature relevant to this new educational milieu providing insight into constructivist epistemology, situated learning, cognitive apprenticeship, and instructional design of web-based learning.
The aim of the project is to develop an interactive system in order to easily learn the subject of Fundamentals of Software Engineering. The system is going to be uploaded in a Learning Management System (LMS) to interact with information presented in the LMS. I committed to develop SCORM compliant LMS content with animations, graphics, etc.

Main and Detail Course map for the project was drafted. The content is drafted as Power Point slide and then using a SCORM compliant tool this content is being transferred as SCORM complaint content. Main Course map for the project was drafted. The content is created as Power Point slide and then using a SCORM compliant tool this content is being transferred as SCORM complaint content.
In this connection the sophisticated tool which SCROM is complaint considered to produce courseware. The ToolBook tool is capable of creating documents of content using text, images, animation and interaction, audio, video, equations and symbols and Microsoft Office documents. Therefore it is easy and faster to create courseware. It is evaluation version, so freely available via internet
The aim of the project met successfully completion. This product is going to be very much helpful for the students in e-Learning Fundamentals of Software Engineering module efficiently
It was totally different a good and experience. Especially this is an entirely new field to me at same time learning about e-Learning was fantastic experience. Any e-Learning materials can confidence to develop any kind of audience. It was great experience to learning and applying all theories in developing e-Learning content like instructional design, SCORM. All the tools used in this development were entirely new. Self study to improve knowledge is important here.

Mobile Solution for a Sales and Distribution Company

Title: Mobile Solution for a Sales and Distribution Company
Authors: Alahakoon, A.A.R.S.
Abstract: In this document, detailed information is presented to provide a mobile device based Sales Force Automation Solution for Sales and Distribution Company. Information presented here covers all aspects of the project such as the normal business operations, the business problems, the total solution overview, requirements definition, system design and total implementation details. The document also covers the technical architecture and the system interfaces and general constraints, testing criteria and evaluation of the project work.

The main objective of this project is to implement a software solution based on mobile computing devices to streamline the Field Sales operation of a sales and distribution company. The project will provide an information technology enabled business solution to maximize distribution of the product portfolio. There are many problems and inefficiencies with the current distribution networks since the most of the companies relies on the manual procedures. By implementing this solution, whole distribution companies can make use of the real essence of the Information Technology to solve their current business problems.

With the system study carried out the existing distribution models and their bottlenecks have been identified. In order to address these problems a solution is formulated by integrating different parties in the distribution network. The proposed solution is focused three major stakeholders the Head Office, Distributor and the Sales Representative. Three separate systems were identified for above stakeholders and there are many means to interconnect those subsystems.

Finally the system is a very good effort to be an example how Information Technology could be used to solve practical inefficiencies of manual business processes.

Public Health Information Management System For ministry of Health

Title: Public Health Information Management System For ministry of Health
Authors: Silva, U.M.De.
Abstract: Department of Health Services provides public health services to the community through a network of MOH offices. Medical officer of health is responsible for all the health care activities of his division. He works together with the primary health care workers such as Public Health Inspectors, Public Health Midwifes and Public Health Nursing Sisters. While they discharge their duties they collect a large amount of data and forward to decision makers as periodical reports. These data are very useful in predict and control disease out breaks and planning of health care services in division as well as the country. All these collected data is consolidate and processed manually. Due lack of trained human resources, non availability of time and modern technology and various other constrains, these valuable data and information were underutilized. This proposed system will be designed to address above mentioned constrains and will assist health planners in decision making to improve the health status of the country.

The objective of this study is to Design and provide a management information system to plan, monitor and evaluate preventive health care programmes of ministry of health. This will improve the quality and timeliness of decision making, save resources and provide additional time for service provision and health planning.

Most difficult task was to analyze the existing system as it was very complex large and in certain areas responsibilities were not clearly defined, lot of grey areas. We did a very detail analysis of the system to get a clear under standing of the actual situation and the information need. It helped us to design the system to cater all the user requirements.
