Web Based Industrial Training Management System (ITMS) for National Water Supply & Drainage Board

Title: Web Based Industrial Training Management System (ITMS) for National Water Supply & Drainage Board
Authors: Thilakarathna, K.G.D.C.
Abstract: the core activities of the Manpower Development & Training Division in National Water Supply & Drainage Board. Approximately 500 students from NWS & DB around the country participate in many different internship & on-the-job trainings per year. Previously, industrial training-related tasks such as trainee enrollment as well as issuing agreement, assignment letters and trainee records, requesting certificates, and so on were all done manually. Completing these job tasks takes a long time and requires additional staff. Another drawback of this manual procedure has been the maintenance of several types of papers in hardcopies, which makes it challenging to search information & prepare MIS reports when needed.
The main objective of this system was to provide a “Web-Based Industrial Training Management System (ITMS)” to automate the activities carried around the internship & on-the-job training process by the manpower development & training division of the NWSDB, in a more secured, accurate and efficient way. In addition to that, this new system provided an accurate, reliable, efficient and user-friendly system for users.
Major activities such as registering for requesting industrial training, requesting the service of a new trainee, assigning for industrial training, keeping attendance and work records, issuing a certificate were done very easily by this web-based ITM system. All the above-mentioned manual tasks are converted to function via the system by the developed web-based system and made the whole process zero paper based. This web-based system was developed using web development tools such as the PHP framework, MySQL, & Apache web server, etc. The ITMS manages every data & information through a central server, & only authenticated users could access that data and services via the internet.
Finally, the major objective of this system which is to provide a “Web-Based Industrial Training Management System (ITMS)” to automate the activities carried around the internship & on-the-job training process by the manpower development & training division of the NWSDB, in a more secured, accurate and efficient way is achieved. And apart from that, new system provided a reliable, efficient and user-friendly system for users. It should be emphasized that the major goals were achieved by the developed web-based ITMS.

JK Fitness Office: Web based Gym Management System

Title: JK Fitness Office: Web based Gym Management System
Authors: Nishanthan, M.
Abstract: People have recently begun to become more concerned about their food and health, making going to the gym the logical option they seek. The Jaffna district's JK Fitness centers are the intended users of the system. The gym has all the equipments which are mostly up to date according to current fitness trends and also has other helpful products to give its clients a better service. As a result, the number of members would likely grow daily, leading the gym management to choose an IT solution to handle the rising traffic.
After determining the user needs by employing various data collection approaches to verify that the requirements were clear, development was carried out. Software was created and developed using an incremental and iterative development process based on the requirements.
The manual system now in use at the gym is intended to be replaced by the JK Fitness Office software. The system's goal is to give members quick access to the gym's resources while enhancing the management of the facility. The primary capabilities that were discovered were as follows: member administration, attendance management, payments and expense management, and report generating. It was possible to control access using the login and password. Additionally, user access levels were implemented to control the system's accessibility.
The system is capable of tracking members whose packages or memberships are about to expire and will immediately email them a membership reminder. The system can be highly customized, allowing the administrator to manage user access and how the system looks. The system was created as a web-based application, making it widely accessible.
Web Application will make use of
• .Net5 with Core framework, C# language, jQuery, JavaScript and CSS
• IDE – Microsoft Visual Studio
• Database – Microsoft SQL

Crowd Funded Donation Management System

Title: Crowd Funded Donation Management System
Authors: Jayasundara, R.A.P.B.M.
Abstract: In simple terms, Charity is an act of kindness where a strong person helps a weak person. It is one of the key fundamentals of a highly developed society. There are lots of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that are conducting charity events on large scale but today even they also experienced difficulties in getting funds or other required things. Inflation and economic downturn made people care less about charity.
Building trust with the public is another biggest challenge in fundraising. Donors want to be sure that their money will make a difference. Even if there are only a few scammers out there, it discourages people from donating to charities in general. When one institution collapses, many individuals feel that all organizations are untrustworthy. Today people want to engage in charity/fundraising events to feel like they’re a part of the story, not a passing observer.
“Charity” is a crowd-funded donation management system that is built to manage fundraising events. The main objective of this project is to provide a transparent, socially engaging platform for donors. This concept is heavily inspired by google’s local guide program. From creating a campaign to making a donation, the whole process is handled by the system. Authorized persons can verify the campaign's authenticity. This will increase the donor's trust in the fundraising campaign. The system was developed in a way that people can share donation campaigns on social media. It is very useful for the campaign organizers to raise awareness of their campaigns ultimately it’ll help to build a social network among donors. A clear dashboard with many useful reports are presented to the user very clearly. In addition, Performance, Security, Reliability, and Maintainability are some of the features which are considered during the implementation of the project.
The proposed system was implemented as a web-based system using Vue.js, a progressive javascript framework, and Google firebase was used as the backend database. The backend API server was developed using Node.Js. After implementing the project testing was carried out at different testing levels. Several manual testing techniques were used to test the front-end web application. The “Mocha” testing framework was used to carry out automated testing for back-end server testing. After the project testing, the system was deployed into the live environment for user evaluation. The user evaluation process was carried out to evaluate the system to get user feedback and improvements. Most of the participants were satisfied with the system and a few improvements were suggested to enhance the system.
