New Philip Hospital is a country’s leading hospital, situated in the heart of the Kalutara Town, which was established in 1955. They are well-known for their high quality health care services. New Philip Hospital don’t have their own Appointment management system currently. They use third party services to perform day to day appointment management activities. This process has few disadvantages. Since they are using 3rd party services, hospital has to pay for those service providers for their services and patients have to pay some extra money when they are booking appointments through these services. Another disadvantage is these systems do not provide all functionalities required by hospital since they are common systems.&#xD;
The new system going to help users in numerous ways. New system will offer patient records management, fast online and local payments, up-to-date and accurate records that will help and benefit to patients, doctors and system admins.&#xD;
Rational Unified Process model was chosen for the development methodology which supports Object Orientation and iterative development process. The system was developed using the PHP open source server side scripting language. Apache web server was chosen to run the system. MySQL Database Management System was used for manipulating and storing records.</description>

‘Salon Nirosha’ which is a hair and beauty parlor currently use a manual procedure to deal with its management processes. Its customers do not have a proper way to make an appointment; other than making a call or visit the Salon premise. Salon owner, employees and customers need to keep reminders on their mobiles over appointments. Salon owner and her employees maintain a diary to note down the appointment details. Service details of the salon are written in papers; which always leading for misplacements. Owner need to write all the service details at a new paper once it get misplaced or updated. Once a payment has done, customer will receive a hand written receipt (from the manual receipt book), and the cashier is keeping a copy of the same receipt. There is a higher risk of misplacing the receipt copies. Owner has no proper way to manage her employees and clients.&#xD;
This project was done to solve the abovementioned problems prevails at ‘Salon Nirosha’. It was expected to provide a Salon Management System Software to manage her employees, clients, client appointments, reminders, services, resources and payments while providing a dashboard to view information and generating crucial reports to support the higher managerial decisions.&#xD;
Project development was based on OO (Object Oriented) concepts. Java was selected as the programming language; basically jsp and servlet frameworks were used. STS (Spring Tool Suit) was the IDE (Integrated Development Environment) used. Apache Tomcat was used as the server, and pgAdmin as the database. Improved version of windows starts from version 7 was expected to be used as the OS (Operating System). Several design tools like: MS Visio, Visual Paradigm etc., used at design drawing. Entire project was developed under Iterative Waterfall SDLC Methodology.&#xD;
Salon Management System which was fully tested using a variety of testing methods (such as unit, integration and system testing) was implemented at the client site successfully. The user manual handover to the salon employees was seemed to be very useful for them to work with the system. The highest satisfactory feedback of the Client was able to gain after the user acceptance testing.</description>

E-commerce or E-shopping has changed up to certain level due to popularity of internet, which delivers several advantages for the businesses as well as the customers’ day today activities. Online shopping has made it easy for the customers’ collaboration, communication as well as the valuable time. Customers can do their shopping activities in their fingertips by digitalizing the shopping environment.&#xD;
The primary goal of an online shopping website and system is to sell goods and services using internet. This project provides facility to maintain the business which is system while facilitate the customers to go on shopping virtually in the internet which is website. Customers can fetch their desired items and purchase from the website. From the system perspective, business owners or employees in the company can control the business as well as the website.&#xD;
This project was designed with Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) concept. Because of client had clear and stable idea about what they want from the system, project was undertaken with the iterative waterfall model. Resources that were used in this project were open source and JavaEE was selected as the main programming language in terms of development. Online shopping system which is a web based software solution was developed using JAVA backend and front end development use HTML, JavaScript and other several libraries. In order to build it using object oriented concept and MVC architecture, Java frameworks such as Struts, Spring and Hibernate were used. Tomcat Apache was used as application server and MySQL was the database.&#xD;
The system was tested in multi-stage testing process by categorizing into two such as functional and non-functional testing which includes unit testing, integration testing and system testing, load testing, security testing and acceptance testing.</description>

Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo is now knowing as the largest public hospital for children in the world. It provides treatments for children under 12 years old and serves as the national pediatric care center for the whole county and as local hospital for children in Colombo. LRH provides wide range of 24 hours’ services for completely free of charge. The hospital is equipped with well trained and qualified staff and excellent facilities. Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Critical Care unit of LRH is a specialized unit which provides critical and surgical care for children struggling with heart diseases.&#xD;
Currently unit is using several applications such as spread sheets and word documents for capturing, storing and processing information. However mainly information handling is done manually. The current system is quiet complex, and difficult to manage, due to use of papers and spreadsheets. Data retrieval is time consuming and needs lot of effort to track the patient history.&#xD;
The main area an Information Technology (IT) solution was needed is for handling follow up records of inward patients and retrieving discharged patient history. The system facilitates computer based storage and quick retrieval of data of inward and discharged patients. Also system can track particular patient information and schedule of the relevant patient’s surgery plan. System will provide shift allocations for Medical officers which currently done using a manual system. Solution will be provided to the problems such as unfairness and invisibility of the process which can be raised when shift allocation is done manually. The solution will facilitate the unit administration to analyze information of the patients by the reports generated through the system such as Mortality reports, Discharge summaries. Intensive care provided by the unit will be enhanced by linking information and keeping track of them.&#xD;
The system is web based and used server is Apache. It is based on client-server architecture and developed in accordance to object oriented principals therefore it can be easily extended in future. System is developed using languages such as PHP, HTML and Java Script. Unified Modeling Language (UML) is used for modeling. Database used is a MySQL database. Bootstrap framework has been used, therefore the system is accessible through several devices such as Laptops, Tablets and Mobile phones.</description>
