Authors: Kaluarachchi, C.D.
Abstract: The scope of this project is to explore the current implementation of Electronic Health Record system in Arogya Hospitals Private limited. My client‟s requirement is to reorganize his hospital‟s present management procedure to have efficient and effective work flow and increased the patient‟s care. They are not using any computerized system to manage its activities. They used to do their management activities on manual on papers works. Since all the processing is doing manually, it was time consuming. Various studies have shown that paper based medical records are far from a good solution especially when timely information regarding a patient's medical history can make the difference between life and death. Furthermore an Electronic Medical Record Systems provide a real time access to the patient‟s medical history and other related records and it‟s very convenient for both medical staff and the patients. The objectives of the project is reducing manual efforts for maintaining the system, generate important reports on day wise and month wise, storing large amount of data for future perspectives, reducing process time, emphasis on accuracy data, assure security and validity of Data, as well as the project will be developed with friendly user interfaces that can be used by any user and fully automated, however human involvement is needed. Finally increase the productivity of the hospital in most effective and efficient way. To design the project it has planned to use an open source tool called CMS3 and customize it according to the clients‟ requirements. CMS 3 is a multi tire web application consists of client side and a server side. Both application layer and user layer is on the client side. And the database layer is on one central server. CMS3 is developed using Grails application framework (A flavor of java. And a combination of GORM, GSP framework plug-in), XUL (XML user interfacing language) and Extjs (A client side JavaScript library used for client side scripting). There is a one central MYSQL Database. Other than that the system has been included localization settings. According to the user evaluation the system has met all the user requirements.

Authors: Jayalatharachchi, D.E.
Abstract: Sinhala, the majority language of Sri Lanka, is still in its infancy with respect to natural
language processing research and applications, of which, spell checking is an important area.
One of the major issues with implementing a Sinhala spell checker is the deficiency of
resources like morphological analyzers, tagged corpora and comprehensive lexica. Due to rich
morphological features, using an entirely rule based approach or integration with an existing
spellchecker program is difficult as well. A viable alternative is to use a data-driven approach
as shown with the spell checking system named “Subasa”.
This project attempts to improve the quality of the data driven spell checker “Subasa”, using
minimum edit distance techniques and make the system available online to public for free. In
addition, this project compares publicly available spell checkers including this one to evaluate
their performance.

Title: Collaborative Human Resource Management System for Southern Provincial Council
Authors: Gayani, N.H.C.
Abstract: The main administrative center in the Southern Provincial Council is the Chief Secretary’s Office and it administrates financial, physical and human resources in five provincial ministries, nineteen departments and more than 300 sub organizations. Therefore it is vital to introduce and improve new technical methods in administration.

Currently there are more than 30,000 Government Servants work under the Southern Provincial Council. With the current paper-based/spreadsheet based systems, need to spend a lot of their time in maintaining and updating data and management requires significant information about its human resources to make crucial business decisions. But even after tremendous efforts there are lots of data gaps and inconsistencies making it difficult to find employee information or generate desired reports.

Hence this project is to be developed to fulfill the management requirement in Human Resource (HR) aspect and it presents an electronically automated online information system with best Human Resource Management practices and eliminating identified problems with the manual system. Human resource, performance, training, annual transfer, retirement, recruitment, attendance, leave, housing rent, welfare and medical plan Management are the main functions of the proposed system.

This system is to be developed on the three-tire client server architecture using web interface with My-SQL Server for the back end and use Php for coding and HTML to design the web interface. It supports multiple users with the encrypted password and access level controls with the centralized data base.

After implementation, acceptance test will be carried out to measure the user satisfaction with the system functionality and user interfaces.

Title: Web based Inventory Management System For Sampath Bank
Authors: Dissanayake, N.N.
Abstract: As a very successful and heavily spread financial organization in Sri Lanka; Sampath Bank PLC relies seriously on their Inventory Control System to make certain that they have adequate inventory levels to satisfy the daily banking needs, in order to assure their valued customer service.
The current Inventory Control System that is done using Lotus Notes language requires lot of manual inputs and the Service Department users of Sampath Bank have to keep track of the products regularly to determine how much to order and when to order as well as deliveries across the branches around the country. Most of the records are traditionally paper based; hence authority faces lots of problems with information misplacement. Also a lot of time is consumed for the manual system and as a result the bank‟s daily processes are adversely impacted. So the objective of this project is to design and develop a system that provides a solution to handle system uncertainties caused by unmeasured disturbances mentioned above.
After carefully analyzing the exact requirements, a new web based Inventory Control System is proposed and designed to overcome the complexity of the current inventory process. The proposed system automatically monitors inventory amounts, provides information concerning inventory, and decides if an order for replacement inventory should be placed.
ASP and C# languages are used for developments on .NET platform and Oracle 10g is used to program the database interface of the application, where the entire application can be viewed using the Internet Explorer web browser on Windows platform. Apart from the implementation, the development practice includes a proper Quality Assurance process and a user training sessions to improve the benefits of the system.
An inventory control is a constant requirement that involves more than immediate and reactionary decisions that directly affect business progress. Therefore, it is an essential necessity to establish and enforce a proper system that will serve as tool in utilizing the inventory management system process in the most efficient effective manner.
